INSIGHT Update Spring 2022
The pilot phase of INSIGHT has been recently completed. This has shown that women and their families are very happy to take part, and contribute samples to our study. We are now moving into the main phase of the study. As part of this, we are recruiting women who wish to have study visits on multiple days. We are able to visit women and their babies every day after birth, up to day 4. This will allow us to generate new information on how breastfeeding hormones change in the first few days after birth. Our team of researchers include a midwife and maternity support workers, who are able to provide help and support with breastfeeding during each visit.
We have recruited nearly 70 women as of May 2022! We would like to say a huge thank you to each of our participants. This vital research would not be possible without your generosity, and we will use this data to make positive contributions to the field of breastfeeding and lactation.
